What would Audrey wear this summer?

Despite her European roots, there’s something so effortlessly all-American about Audrey Hepburn, especially her iconic summer looks. She wasn’t just stylish—she set the standard.
Even decades later, she seems as fresh and relevant as ever. So, I thought it would be fun to spotlight a few easy ways to channel your inner Audrey this summer…
Short shorts + headscarves – effortless and cool, the ultimate off-duty combo. Here are the cutest Audrey style shorts out there and I adore all of these scarves by Bembien—such fun European summer vibes. Also, I bet lots of you (like me) probably have some unworn scarves in your closets, so you could always start there. If short shorts are not for you, this vibe works equally well with slim capri pants.
Boat-neck tops/Breton stripes – classic and flattering, forever stylish. She wore them every way: bold red and white or Beatnik-style with black cigarette pants. As you learned on Tuesday, I’m obsessed with stripes so here are a few of the best options out there: a more relaxed fit, a more fitted one, one with cute buttons, adorable short sleeve and the best deal. A classic white boat neck blouse here and more fitted white boat neck here and love this easy ecru lightweight knit one.
Capri pants – slim and cropped for warm summer days in Vichy prints to gingham everything, it’s all giving summer chic. These are the perfect Audrey pair and clearly they will not go out of style.
Ballet flats – comfy, cute, and here to stay. This red one is so chic and of course I will continue to recommend these all summer long.
Sunglasses, always – the bigger, the better. Audrey knew. These are perfect and very Audrey/Jackie. These also have Audrey vibes.
Statement hats - Hepburn loved a good hat moment. Here’s my favorite and here’s a wider brim one.
Oversized crisp white shirt– whether throwing one on over your bathing suit, tying at the waist with your favorite jeans or wearing post beach shower, it’s a chic summer staple you need. Love this one and of course, you can always steal one from any of the men in your life ;)
Statement earrings – whether pearls, gold hoops, or chandelier drops, she knew the power of a perfect pair. I have these and absolutely LOVE them and wear both dressy and more casual, I feel like Audrey would approve.
And I cannot write about Audrey’s summer style without mentioning that she was a famous and loyal Canfora client— apparently her favorite style was the K.
