Three brands.
That's all.
I’m coming up on my one-year anniversary here at The LKO Edit, so naturally I’m preparing for all the massive brand deals that I’m sure will start rolling in any day now. LOL. So I figured I’d put it out there that I’ve identified some major favorites that I could very easily make my whole personality.
Effortless and chic usually go hand in hand with being comfortable…and wow, these brands absolutely deliver. Do yourself a favor and invest in a few truly great pieces instead of piles of mediocre ones.
And while you’re at it, show your skin a little love too.
Margaux
Let’s start with the most comfortable heels I have ever worn. Margaux is not a new brand - or new to me. I already own several pairs of their flats and lower block heels. But I recently scored a pair of their high heel sandals (with a slight platform) at the sample sale, and Joan got the same pair. We both wore them to events recently and were absolutely blown away by how comfortable they were. I genuinely could not believe how good my feet felt during and afterward.
I think there comes a certain age when feet become just so damn annoying. And I have to say, these were infinitely more comfortable than a much lower kitten heel I wore for a shorter amount of time from Larroudé — another brand apparently known for comfort (not).
Honestly, the biggest takeaway for me is that heel height doesn’t matter nearly as much as the shoe itself. And higher heels really are more flattering on most of us. It’s basically a fact. So if you invest in one really good pair that feels amazing, I truly think you’ll be so happy you did. Now I am equally inspired to wear them with pants in a more casual way because of said comfort.
I also think trendy summer shoes like Maryjanes and flat sandals can be cute but pretty uncomfortable…well, not these. Invest in a cute style you love and learn just how often you will reach for them. I think versatility may be one of the most underrated perks of really great wardrobe pieces. And remember, shoes make the outfit!
ME & EM
I ordered three dresses from this brand and figured it would be the usual try on and keep maybe one. So far I’m two for two. I got this black one first and cannot believe how perfect it is…the fit, the fabric, the style. Order anything in their cheesecloth and prepare to die and go to heaven. I am wearing it for the second time today in less than a week. I wore it with the high heels for a dressier dinner the other night and I’m wearing it with ballet flats today for lunch. Now I am looking at this shirt in the same fabric…
I also ordered this white one, which was the most expensive, with weak hopes that it would be something I’d actually want to keep…and it’s so perfect. It’s a great, flattering shape and hits at the perfect length above knee but not too short and it’s just so effortless. The slip makes it perfect to wear out to dinner - I am seeing it with sandals and a jean jacket on my shoulders. And I love that I now have a v chic coverup for the beach. It’s worth every penny. Very few sizes left but so many other great options to try!
I am waiting on an orange one - the one I was most excited about! SO. I now have high hopes I will be keeping it too but will report back. This style is now fully sold out but there are plenty of others to try…including this one.
I just had lunch yesterday with a chic friend who had a shopping bag with her new Me & Em dress that was equally fab (they have store in NYC). I think this is the clothing equivalent to Margaux! Their dresses are well made, on trend and comfortable. I also love how easily they dress up or down. Really really versatile pieces I promise you will live in.
Medik 8

Looking chic starts with feeling good in your skin - both literally and figuratively. Here I will cover the literal…
I have three products from Medik8 and it’s quickly becoming my skincare brand.
MEDIK8 - Liquid Peptides Advanced MP - this stuff works. Its claims to reduce fine lines in 10 minutes and it seems to be accurate. I’ve reordered.
MEDIK8 - Crystal Retinal 1 Serum - This No.1 Retinal Serum Worldwide acts 11x faster than standard retinal. And, unlike others, their patented formula ensures unmatched retinal potency and effectiveness until the very last drop. I’ve reordered, I’m on their #6 now, lots of strengths to try.
Pro Collagen peptide moisturizer - I’m still on my first tub, lasts forever and feels so good before bed. NAD+ Longevity Booster, and Anti-A.G.E. Peptide to boost skin’s natural ability to maintain collagen levels, for a more rejuvenated, youthful, lifted and sculpted look. Yes please.
Honorable mention: J Crew!!

I was in both their Soho store and Rockefeller Center store yesterday and all I can say is THEY ARE BACK. So many chic and fun and classic choices for summer. Even Victoria, the Anna Wintour of our family (who is here in the US with us currently!), just did a haul.
I splurged for their bag with Rue de Verneuil and absolutely LOVE - and they have some other great bags for summer like the Montauk tote above. And, if you don’t have a cotton rollneck from them well, what are you waiting for?! The guys look equally cute in a rollneck sweater (father’s day?) Or, just shop their ICONS for all the inspiration you need.
And I’ll leave you with a book review…
SAVE YOUR MONEY. I was so excited about this book that I preordered it immediately… and honestly, it’s pretty awful.
As you all probably know, I’m a big believer in manifesting and in the idea that looking and feeling our best can genuinely impact our mindset and confidence. So I really thought this was going to become my new holy grail. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t. It felt repetitive, overly drawn out, and way too woo-woo for me.
Honestly, the best way to hear her message is through this Mel Robbins podcast episode - if you haven’t listened to it, that’s all you need.
Because at its core, I do love the concept: intentionally getting dressed based on how you want to feel that day is actually a powerful way to start your morning. And I absolutely believe there’s something to the idea of dressing for the success, energy, or confidence you want to step into.
LKO Tip: If you’re looking for a really great book on style… I highly recommend any of the Parisian Chic books by Ines de la Fressange…those are 100% worth your money!
That’s it for today! Have a great week and thanks for being here. If you’re enjoying the edit please share.
